Gum disease is one of the leading causes of tooth loss. Traditional periodontal treatment often involves deep cleanings, surgery, bone grafting, and, in severe cases, tooth extraction. Surgical treatment usually requires opening the infected gum tissue, removing diseased tissue and deep infection with dental instruments, and then suturing the area closed. Because the surgical site is larger, recovery and healing can take significantly longer.

Dr. Song takes a different approach. He is committed to putting patients first and doing everything possible to save natural teeth. Extraction and dental implants are considered only when absolutely necessary. In his view, no artificial tooth can truly replace a natural one.

All-on-4 dental implants: faster treatment, lower cost

At Harvard Dental, Dr. Song is highly experienced not only in treating gum disease and tooth decay, but also in permanent dental implants.

For many middle-aged adults, treatment often involves replacing a single missing tooth. Dr. Song’s implant restorations are designed to look, feel, and function very much like healthy natural teeth.

For many older adults, however, oral health conditions are often more complex. Multiple missing or damaged teeth may require extensive treatment, and traditional full-mouth implant procedures can take six months to a year or longer, with many office visits and substantial cost.

Dr. Song offers All-on-4 implant treatment, which uses just 4 to 6 implants to securely support a full arch of replacement teeth. This approach provides excellent stability while costing significantly less than replacing each tooth with an individual implant. In many cases, the surgical procedure can be completed in a single day, helping patients avoid repeated trips and lengthy treatment.
